Border Collies, Carrots and Barbed Wire Fences

ART.  Awake at the crack of dawn this morning, I (or the muse) wanted to paint, and this is what came through the paintbrush. Still a work-in-progress but almost finished, this is a painterly version of a Border Collie pup holding a half eaten carrot between his paws. Border Collies are the cutest little fuzz ball puppies.

LIFE.  Even 12 year old Brooke still gets that puppy look upon her face from time to time. Brooke comes to life when we visit the farm. She is totally in her natural element on all that pastureland. Here she is gingerly crossing under the barbed wire fence that keeps the cows away from the farmhouse. I love her pose. She was so careful not to get caught up in that bottom barbed wire. I'll be painting this one.

Today's Quote:
The godly are concerned for the welfare of their animals, but even the kindness of the wicked is cruel. --Proverbs 12:10

  1. I like the freedom of the collie. They are a wonderful pet. I think the fence crossing would make a great painting. You captured the puppy with the carrot so nicely. Beautiful.
