Expressionist Painting of Church in Trinity, Texas

TRINITY CHAPEL • oil on panel 11x14 inches
copyright Vernita Bridges Hoyt 2011
In years past as I would drive home from Dad's farm, I watched the little wooden A.M.E. Methodist church at Trinity, Texas, go through decay and then an attempt at restoration. Through research, I found the little church listed on the Texas historic record. On one of my trips I stopped to shoot photos of the little church which, in turn, inspired this expressionist painting. This painting SOLD through The DaVinci Artists Gallery in Tomball, Texas. As a child, I was reprimanded for daydreaming. Today my daydreams morph into paintings.
