Yesterday while at Office Depot I picked up a book titled simply Success. It is filled with quotes from famous people and some not-so-famous but successful people--"advice for achieving your goals from remarkably accomplished people." Some of the quotes strike a home run with me, such as the quote from Leonardo da Vinci above. Leonardo was the Renaissance Man, best known for his Portrait of Mona Lisa and The Last Supper fresco. He is known to have designed a contraption resembling the bicycle long before it was produced and was architect for the Duke of Milan in 1482 designing everything from churches to fortresses. It is said that Leonardo's interests were so broad and he was compelled by new subjects that he typically failed to finish what he started, resulting in the completion of only about six projects in 17 years.

Today people would call The Renaissance Man scattered, yet he has endured for centuries. Maybe scattered wasn't always so bad.

  1. Wonderful quote Nita... Leonardo's ability to multi task would have been the envy of everyday modern man! But I so relate to this... too many ideas... so many projects in the pipeline... but which one first?

"Puppy Love" is simply beautiful... so full of character!

  2. Thanks again, Jean, re Puppy Love.

I love thinking about da Vinci's many talents. Yes, today's multi-taskers may be equivalent or more in numbers of projects attempted... I fear I am more like Leonardo in the "not finishing" part of the deal. :)

  3. Great Topic! I have 1 airedale 2 year's old and believe it or not his name is dale:) Great Painting!!
I was finding it hard to find pet supplies online at good prices. One day i was searching in goole and stumbled on My Pet Outlet. I finally found what i was looking for. They had great prices on dog supplies, dog toys and dog collars, just to name a few. This online pet store has free shipping on all orders over $25.00 and they also gave me a coupon code "MYPET" to save 15% on my whole order. I have added these quick links to visit there site. Hope this helps everyone save some money!
