Yesterday while at Office Depot I picked up a book titled simply Success. It is filled with quotes from famous people and some not-so-famous but successful people--"advice for achieving your goals from remarkably accomplished people." Some of the quotes strike a home run with me, such as the quote from Leonardo da Vinci above. Leonardo was the Renaissance Man, best known for his Portrait of Mona Lisa and The Last Supper fresco. He is known to have designed a contraption resembling the bicycle long before it was produced and was architect for the Duke of Milan in 1482 designing everything from churches to fortresses. It is said that Leonardo's interests were so broad and he was compelled by new subjects that he typically failed to finish what he started, resulting in the completion of only about six projects in 17 years.

Today people would call The Renaissance Man scattered, yet he has endured for centuries. Maybe scattered wasn't always so bad.
