Artist's Statement:

"Art-making has been the one constant through all my years of business, real estate, architectural design and the personal ups and downs of living. I find my joy in the creative process whether designing a building or painting a portrait of child and pet. I am equally comfortable with oil paint, watercolor or soft pastel."

Artist's Bio:

Vernita Bridges Hoyt paints from her soul and captures the essence of a subject with brush strokes of pure color to be mixed by the viewer's eye. Holding a degree in architecture, Hoyt includes architectural elements in many of her paintings, but it is through her lifelike portraits of children and pets that she supports cancer research and animal rescue organizations. She has exhibited art at various Texas art galleries including the Garden of the Dragonfly Gallery in Old Town Spring, the Dutch Art Gallery in Dallas, and the Da Vinci Artists Gallery in Tomball.

V. Bridges Hoyt is a daily painter and has exhibited her paintings in the original Colorado based Daily Painters Art Gallery since early 2006. As a founding member of Art Helping Animals in 2006, she helped establish an international artists' alliance to benefit animal rescue. She is a co-founder of the Dallas based organization Artists of Texas.

V. Bridges Hoyt paintings are in collections across the USA, Canada, Australia and the British Isles.
