Dressed Duck is a painting that was started in 1986-87. It was a simple watercolor with a boring duck floating in a pond. Taking artistic license last week, I decided to play with some color and texture and dress up this duck. Ms. Duck is dressed in a stylish, shimmering green and purple wrap and awaits her 15 minutes of fame.

  1. She's wonderful! Don't you love it when you go back to something and manage to pull the rabbit out of the hat, or in this case, the duck out of the lake? I've had a painting I've been tinkering with for the past 20 years, but it will never be as good nor as... dare I say it... ducky as this is.

  2. Oh, thank you, John C. You are so funny! Yes, it was fun to go back and change this one into something different and lighthearted. My painting effort is going to escalate real soon as I am totally committed to daily painting for the site and also for Art Helping Animals.

John, you do have such a way with words.

Let me hear from you!
