Yoshi BOXER and Mini-Me | Loyalty and Kindness

ART.  Yoshi and Mini-Me.  Yoshi is a full grown male boxer. Mini-Me (name changed to protect the innocent) was thought to be a boxer pup but turned out to be more chihuahua than anything. So much alike but so different, Yoshi and 'Mini-Me' have formed a friendship based on loyalty and kindness. Otherwise the boxer would snap off the head of the 'Mini-Me' in one small bite. Yoshi is much more patient than Border Collie Brooke would be.

LIFE.  Loyalty and kindness.  Loyalty is so important in relationship building. Without loyalty, there can be no respect. Without kindness, hurt and withdrawal and resentment build. Relationships ... parent to child, brother to sister, friend to friend, boyfriend to girlfriend, spouse to spouse ... will thrive through the practice of loyalty and kindness.

In my life, I have emphasized loyalty and kindness, but there have been times, of course, when I have experienced relationship woes with children, siblings, friends or a spouse. It stands to reason that since none of us is perfect, there will always be times when one or the other of us dismisses loyalty and kindness. Compassion develops loyalty and kindness. We need to always think how our actions or words [or lack of words] can hurt another person. Relationships are nurtured with loyalty and kindness ... something worth striving for.

This is my study of the Book of Proverbs. This is where I am today.  Follow along if you like.

My child, never forget the things I have taught you. Store my commands in your heart, for they will give you a long and satisfying life. Never let loyalty and kindness get away from you! Wear them like a necklace; write them deep within your heart. Then you will find favor with both God and people, and you will gain a good reputation.
--Proverbs 3:1-4

  1. Thank you for the reminder. I can never understand those who know no kindness, even though they probably seek it. Those dogs are so neat together. Have a Happy New Year
